THREE BIG MISTAKES CLIENTS MAKE IN THEIR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY
No matter the efforts we make to be successful on our health and weight loss journeys, there will likely always be obstacles and speed bumps we hit along the way that are out of our control. I aim to teach my clients, and want to teach you how you can hold steady amidst the chaos, busy and out of control feeling moments, so in this blog, I’ll highlight three of the most common mistakes I find people make (including me!) and show you how to navigate them to help you stay consistent even when you can find every reason… not to.
HOW TO BUILD A SUCCESSFUL WEIGHT LOSS STRATEGY
Whether you are changing body composition, losing weight, decreasing body fat, increasing muscle or desiring to look more ‘toned’… you are not going to achieve a sustainable result by using restriction, a quick/fix or any extreme method.
Most fail in their weight loss results because they fail in their strategy. You must be willing to put in the extra time and effort to trial different strategies to find what works. You will fail in the process and this information will help you find your strategy.
When it comes to mindset, it often gets overlooked but there’s actually a lot to unpack!

One of the principal components of holistic health coaching is mindset. It’s an area that is sometimes missed in general nutrition and fitness coaching. It includes things like thought patterns, self talk and motivation. I want to discuss the beliefs that might be standing in your way when it comes to weight loss and how to learn how to be successful in your health journey.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH CONSISTENCY
The number one factor that stalls client’s health journeys is consistency. So many women (and men!) come to us as holistic health coaches having tried countless diets and health programs only to fail and return to where they started. ARE YOU TIRED OF NOT SEEING WEIGHT LOSS RESULTS?
Do you look in the mirror every morning and scrutinize your body? Are you growing impatient at your (seeming) lack of results? You’re not alone, girl. HOW TO GET OUT OF A WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAU
When starting with a 1:1 coaching client I will often ask,
“what do you think it takes to get past a weight loss plateau?”
This client could have come to me for a variety of reasons, common ones are wedding weight loss, postpartum health, digestive issues or just being too busy with their career to dedicate time to their health and fitness. Regardless of their pain points and end goals, the answers I get are all pretty similar with versions of, “I need to: Eat less, eat more fruit and veggies, work out more and for longer, control myself around food and eat out less”

ARE YOUR HEALTH GOALS SETTING YOU UP TO FAIL?
Goals are a part of life. Health goals, weight loss goals, nutrition goals and fitness goals - they are a part of life and there are some critical components of these goals that will determine if we achieve them or not. Learning how to set appropriate goals, reverse engineering them and taking the appropriate step by step with intentional effort is a huge part of 1:1 health coaching. YO-YO DIETER TO HEALTH COACH: GIVING YOU TOOLS TO TRUST YOUR BODY
Trust in your body should be innate, but after talking with so many women hearing them blame their body for how they are feeling, I know it is not innate.
Have you set yourself rules like “no pasta or peanut butter” or “workout EVERY day”? These are not sustainable and will actually be hindering your efforts to lose weight. Your body will not trust you and you will not trust yourself.
Through making mistakes myself in a 15+ year pursuit for health, I have developed methods for gaining trust in my body that I now share with other busy women through coaching.
THE 6 BIG QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF NEXT THANKSGIVING
Let’s think about the ‘you’ of the future. The ‘you’ in 5 years. And the ‘you’ in 10 years. What will you be thanking yourself for in health, mind, movement and body?

MY BIGGEST TIP FOR IMPROVING YOUR CONFIDENCE
And as much as I love photos and photography, you’d think I’d be way less anxious in front of a camera, but that’s not what it feels like... and yet I do it anyways. And actually I do a lot of things that feel uncomfortable (as often as I can), because I truly believe that the more comfortable you are in discomfort, the greater your power.
